Ana Paula Alves is a researcher at the project  MediMARE - Mediation in Maritime Conflicts, at the Instituto Jurídico Portucalense, IJP - Polytechnic of Leiria. Graduate student in the Master of Law at the University of Coimbra. She is certified in BLUE ECONOMY LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - capacity building in sustainability and regenerative sea economy, in Lisbon. Holds a degree in Law from Brazil, she worked as a Municipal Attorney, as an Environmental Legal Coordination Advisor, and a lawyer in judicial and extrajudicial environmental litigation. With her Portuguese work experience, she worked as an intern at the Legal Advice Department of the Portuguese Navy, where worked to promote environmental sustainability, in-depth knowledge of Portuguese ships and drafting proposals for regulations. Participated in public consultations for the development and implementation of the National Strategy for the Sea 2021-2030 in Portugal.
